James Bio

James Gallo, MA, LAC

James Gallo earned his Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University and holds NJ State Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor. James’s specializations for counseling include working with children, adolescents, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, social/emotional skills and counseling culturally diverse populations. 

James’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered. James believe’s that with CBT and DBT he will help the client with their thought processes and challenge common thinking mistakes. He also believes that it is important to build a good therapeutic relationship with his client, so that the client feels comfortable sharing. James believes that it is important to meet the client where they are at on their therapeutic journey while doing so in an age-appropriate way. 

When James is not counseling he likes to play a variety of sports, including basketball, tennis, and golf. James currently has 4 dogs and loves taking them for walks.
