Amanda's Bio

Amanda Silverblatt, MSW, LSW

Amanda earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in New Brunswick with a speciality in children and mental health services. She specializes in working with children with developmental disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Depression and Anxiety. She recognizes the importance of working with families as a whole and engaging the whole family in the therapy process. Amanda’s primary theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus in using mindfulness. She uses a variety of different therapeutic approaches based on the client’s needs. 

Amanda also has several years of experience providing ABA therapy for children ages 2-12. She has experience in running social skills groups, parent support groups and parent training. Amanda believes positive reinforcement is very important and a key aspect in any type of therapy. Learning about the client’s likes and dislikes is an important part of relationship building during sessions and is something that is done in every session. Amanda also has significant knowledge about the IEP process for children and provides support for families. 

In her free time, Amanda enjoys working out and spending time with family and friends.
