Alanna D'Avanzo, MS, LAC, NCC, BC-TMH


Alanna D’Avanzo earned her Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and holds NJ State Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor. Alanna also is a National Certified Counselor and Board Certified Life and Career Coach. She is a proud graduate of Rider University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with distinction, where she studied counseling and served as the Vice President in the national counseling honor society, Chi Sigma Iota. Alanna’s specializations for counseling include pediatrics, adolescents/teens, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, social skills and counseling culturally diverse populations, especially the Arab-American community. 

Alanna has also received recognition in the field including the 4th Volume of the Annual Review of Addictions and Offender Counseling, (September 2018), Encyclopedia of Black Comics, and Cyberbullying: Concepts, theories, and correlates informing evidence-based best practices for prevention, 609.429.4451. 

Alanna’s counseling philosophy focuses on supporting a client wherever they are at in their lives, and connecting with clients in an age appropriate way. Alanna feels each individual possesses the power to find meaning in life experiences and take the control of their future. 

Alanna’s extensive fieldwork has included working with youth, teens and adolescents in a partial hospitalization, working at a social skills development center serving those with a variety of developmental disabilities, and conducting intensive in-home therapy with ages 4-21. 

When Alanna is not counseling clients, she enjoys spending time with my family and my Maltipoo, Peace. Alanna is also pursuing graduate coursework for a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
